Which is it?

News emerged yesterday that Prince Andrew had offered to settle the sex abuse claim of Virginia Giuffre, out of court. Based on what we are told, the settlement is expected to run into the millions of dollars and the victim — Virginia Giuffre has opted to donate the money to charities.

That it took so long for the Queen’s favourite child to arrive at this decision wasn’t the question, but what made him do so now, after having proclaimed his innocence for the very longest time?

Was this driven by her majesty, who has been out of sight since Prince Charles was diagnosed with Covid over a week ago or was it just the realization that the institution of the monarchy could do without another scandal, are the questions on people’s minds.

According to the physicians who have been monitoring her majesty, since her self isolation, they are saying that she’s been quite poorly since the last week.

Now whether this is due to being struck by Covid or simply due to old age, we do not know.

But the timing of this announcement by Prince Andrew’s courtiers, does leave room for quite a bit of speculation. Not just by the newspaper tabloids, but by the palace watchers and the wider British public.
