The rest of the world must now follow suit in eliminating plutocracy

While Putin has undoubtedly written his political and actual obituary with his invasion of Ukraine, I do believe that he made a few decisions that I wish a few western politicians had the balls to make.

And what might that be?

The complete destruction of its wealthiest citizens.

When Milton Friedman came into prominence in the 1970s with his ruinous idea that government was the problem and smaller states were the solution, no one had any idea of the degree to which this idea would have the world in its iron-clad grip for the next half-century.

We could not have foreseen the events in Chile which kick started the entire project, when the democratically elected Salvador Allende was overthrown and replaced by the equally murderous and rapacious Augusto Pinochet in 1973.

Nor could we foresee the election of Britain’s first woman Prime Minister, whose leadership led to the privatization of the commanding heights of the British economy and unforgivably harsh economic conditions for millions of people.

And nor could anyone envisage that extraordinary damage that laissez-faire economics would wreak of the…
