Ultimately, we’re getting to the complex moral questions that underpin responsibility within a nation and to the world’s population. One could argue that the Taliban need to be fought from within — such revolutions are the stuff of Nation-building (see the US vs Britain circa 1776 for more) but that was in a pre-machine gun era.
