The last stand of a truly desperate motley crew.

The fight for the soul of the Conservative party has been a very long time coming.

What we didn’t envisage was that this battle would come in the form of a leadership battle.

For those who haven’t been paying attention to British politics lately, Boris Johnson resigned his position as Prime Minister and first lord of the treasury, thus paving the way for the next set of pretenders and contenders to emerge.

In what was initially a crowded field, the wheat has been separated from the chaff and we are left with four players: Rishi Sunak, Liz Truss, Penny Mordaunt and Kemi Badenoch.

What’s incredibly pertinent about this leadership challenge is the degree to which the future of the Conservative party and Brexit Britain will be decided by 200,000 people.

And I must state that this is unlike any leadership contest that we have ever seen: The white males have been largely insignificant and our next Prime Minister could be the third woman or most likely a person of colour.
