One man’s quest for power has left our entire civilization on life support.

It is no longer the subject of debate among the educated classes on both sides of the Atlantic.

When I use the term “both sides of the Atlantic”, I refer to the United Kingdom and the United States of America. We fully comprehend and recognize that we do not live and function in a democracy.

Not any more.

Governments, which have been elected to do the bidding of the masses, no longer pretend to care about the common man and woman, and we are all the poorer for it.

Great Britain and America are to all intents and purposes, fascist regimes. What we have seen in over forty years of Neoliberalism is the careful stripping of the collective wealth of the people and the consolidation of the power of those at the top of the pyramid.

The chasm between the super wealthy and the rest of us has never been so wide and has never been so unbridgeable.

And one man has more than played his part in destroying the checks and balances that the weak in society could rely upon in times past.

His name is Rupert Murdoch.
