I believe so and so should Anglican priests…

The oath of celibacy is the bedrock of ordained clergymen in the catholic movement.

And it has been around for the longest time.

It has survived the Roman, Ottoman, British and the American empires. It is one of those traditions that not very many people dare to question. Certainly not the hundreds of millions of adherents of the catholic faith worldwide.

And one thing is for sure: the oath isn’t rooted in the bible but in the agenda which was pursued by the gatekeepers.

What we must understand about the catholic church is that it was (still is)as much an intellectual, philosophical, moral enterprise as it was an economic and political outfit.

Now what do I mean by this?

The catholic church did play an outsized role in preserving the rich philosophic traditions of the Hellenic times while aggressively expanding its empire in Europe and South America.

It made a huge fortune in the trafficking of humans from Africa to the America and sought to compound its profits over the centuries.

But back to subject of celibacy.
