The supreme paradox of life in the 21st century is that despite the ubiquity and pervasiveness of information and knowledge, we have far more ignorant and uninformed people than at any time in recorded history.

So much of what’s happened in the recent past has faded from our collective consciousness and in its place, lies of the most egregious kind have been propagated with the gullible public not knowing any better.

And Soviet Russia’s role in world war II is an interesting case in point.

While it is true to state that the Communist empire might have collaborated in the crimes which Hitler committed across the continent, had the Fuhrer chosen not to renege on the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, the fact, however, remains that it was the Soviet Republic which won the war in Europe and exposed the crimes of the National Socialist Party.

Seriously?

Yes.

It was Joseph Stalin’s troops which liberated much of mainland Europe from the yoke of Nazism and lost hundreds of thousands of men in the process.

And it is also worth stating that the Lend Lease program, which funneled huge amounts of money, arms and food to the UK and USSR, did play a major role in the final outcome…
