Thank You Very Much, Carrie Koch
A short and heartfelt expression of gratitude to a Medium reader.
My Ko-fi account is one which I haven’t linked to any of my articles for a very long time.
And it came as a huge shock when I saw an email from Ko-fi stating that someone had sent me some money.
Carrie Koch whom I had no idea existed until yesterday also left a very touching note with her donation, which read:
Thank you for your incredible thoughts and engaging writing!
And those words are a powerfully salient reminder that there are people who play their part in your journey, who may not be as voluble as everyone else, but whose presence is just as keenly felt.
And this is precisely why this post is being written: which is to say a very big thank you for your precious time and support.
The algorithm works in mysterious ways and given the seismic changes which have taken place, it is very hard to determine what works and what doesn’t.
But what I have tried to do through the years is to continue to generate pieces close to my heart and to try to engage with as many people as I can here.
The engagement model works perfectly for me and I have never been one to ignore those who read and comment on my work here.
While I am anxious not to be seen as the British equivalent of Shaun King, who has recently undergone yet another reinvention to ensure that his career of grifting remains as strong as ever, I will be posting my Ko-Fi account for all those who are interested.
