The Democrats are like a rotting fish, with maggots starting to creep out of its head and slowly making its way to the other parts of its anatomy.

Over the course of the last forty years, we have seen the party of the working class, move to the right of the economic spectrum and in doing so, abandoning its core supporters.

William Jefferson Clinton, who came from the backwaters of Arkansas, set his party on a course from which it hasn’t deviated.

Those with long memories will remember when he took a break from the 1992 election campaign to oversee the execution of Ricky Ray Rector, a brain damaged African-American man, who killed a police officer in 1981 and not forgetting the savage cuts to welfare in 1996.

It would seem that the party has not been able to shake off the politics of pragmatism since the Clinton Presidency and this is responsible for the generation of players who have emerged ever since.

Barack Obama was wedded to Clintonian economics and there can no misgivings about this when Wall street took the world to the very brink of destruction in 2008 and yet America’s first Black President had no problems bailing them out unconditionally.
