According to Britain’s leading right wing paper.

Great Britain of all the biggest economies in the world had the lowest growth figures in 2021.

These aren’t my words but those of the OECD.

Northern Ireland, on the other hand, is doing extremely well, with its numbers putting the rest of the UK to shame.

And what’s responsible for the disparity in economic performance between mainland Britain and Northern Ireland?

Brexit.

Much more specifically, hard Brexit, which was exacerbated by our departure from the single market and not to mention the fraught issue of the Northern Ireland protocol.

But not according to The Sun Newspaper, owned by Rupert Murdoch.

The Sun Newspaper is Britain’s biggest selling paper.

What used to be a left leaning outfit in the 60s, which supported the striking unions lurched to the right in the aftermath of Murdoch’s purchase in 1969.

The Sun consolidated its position as the preeminent print outfit in the 1980s when Thatcher allowed the Australian oligarch to buy other print establishments in exchange for his support on her radical economic agenda.
