The Gaza War Is The Clash Between Barbarism and Civilization

And Netanyahu is on the side of the former…

Last week, the American government platformed one of the worst human beings alive.

Benjamin Netanyahu got to address both houses of congress and was rewarded with countless standing ovations.

And while we were glad that Rashida Tliab, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders made their voices heard by opposing the consensus, it especially rankled by that a genocidal fascist was given so much airtime to spew his bigotry.

What would Franklin Delano Roosevelt have made of this madness? What’s happened to the United States of America which was resolutely opposed to fascist empires in the 20th century and how will this play out?

The American empire, having learnt well from its predecessor, knew the only way to justify its extreme barbarism was to depict the other as savages who needed to become extinct.

This line of thinking was quite useful in destroying Vietnam, Cambodia, Nicaragua, Panama Argentina, Iraq, Syria and Congo.

The political leadership of the state of Israel, have learnt quite well from their American paymasters, glibly portraying the Palestinians as ‘cockroaches’ ‘rats’ and other dehumanizing terms.

And this is entirely responsible for the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of innocent women and children over the course of the last eight months.

Ordinarily, these acts of extreme cruelty would fly under the radar, but these aren’t ordinary times.

The power of social media has been powerfully harnessed to show the full extent of the crimes of the Israeli government and their western paymasters and it is precisely why Netanyahu has an arrest warrant by the ICC and the ICJ.

And if we are to use the prism through which wars are viewed in the west, it is impossible to think that the Palestinians are the barbarous ones while our governments are civilized.

It is clear to all to see that we have enabled a vast number of atrocities on our watch and posterity will never forgive us for this.

This is my two cents, what’s yours?
