The Nobel Peace Prize and Pax Americana: A Match Made In Heaven?

Donald Trump may not have got his personal wish in the end, but even he, would have found the choice of this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, an explicit endorsement of his strategic objectives.

The Venezuelan recipient — Marina Corina Machado — in the citation in the image above, was praised for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.

To those who see the world in Black and white, Ms. Machado is a force for good and exactly what the doctor ordered. But for those who read between the lines, the newly minted Nobel prize winner is simply an agent of American imperialism, whose work has been endorsed by the Norwegian committee.

Unlike his Democratic and Republican predecessors, the 47th American President hasn’t been reticent or coy regarding his country’s aspirations to overthrow governments in the Southern hemisphere to take over their resources and our man has been in the news on the subject of regime change in South America with Venezuela in his crosshairs.

Ms. Machado’s interests lay not with the everyday folk of her country but with the oligarchs, whose numbers have taken a serious nosedive since Hugo…
