Writer’s block is an affliction that we will all suffer from, at some point or another.

And this affliction is sometimes exacerbated by operating in a highly competitive and a somewhat unforgiving space.

A day without publishing an article has you thinking that you have begun to lose your touch.

A drop-off in your earnings has you thinking that you have finally lost your mojo; that everyone has finally figured you out.

And when you read an article from another writer, who has published something similar to yours, enjoying great attention and success, your heart sinks a little.

And it further compounds the anxiety.

Anxiety does stifle a writer’s creativity: It gets in the way of generating qualitative material; thinking clearly and being at your very best.

Make no mistakes, anxiety isn’t the exclusive preserve of those making a name for themselves on our beloved platform: some of the most successful players here, have shown symptoms of this malaise.

Ms. Wildfire, who had become accustomed to her pieces being widely read, could no longer make any sense of the precipitous decline of her numbers and promptly left the platform.
