The very existence of Black people is a reminder to past atrocities that white people are intent on denying.

With slavery, white folk could hide behind the supposed complicity of Africans in trading Africans.

But with structural racism, there is no hiding place for white folk; the facts are all there for all to see and this is why there is a concerted attempt to stop Black people telling their stories.
