What I saw, reporting undercover on that demo, was a case study in white privilege. Men intent on violence made repeated threats to police officers, staged drunken brawls, urinated in one case on a monument to a murdered police officer, and were left to control one of the most heavily guarded spaces in central London. There were a handful of arrests and a police presence barely adequate to protect the media from physical attack. When you compare it to the police handling of any black, anti-racist or left-wing demonstration, this was white privilege in action.
