Most writers might not know this but our work has, from time to time, reverberated beyond the confines of our beloved space.

And what this does for these players is boost their bottom-line and online presence in ways that we don’t fully appreciate.

One of such platforms is Level.

caters for writing from a Black perspective and a few of my articles have featured on Level.

And so have

and ’s work too.

I was approached by Level and after a bit of back and forth, I put pen to paper to formally join them, But since signing the Level agreement, nearly eight months ago, I have not seen so much as a dollar from them and something tells me that my work has generated something, however small it may be.

Is this unique to me or is this how they operate?

Have other writers had the same experience?

I pose these questions because I shouldn’t have to write this article to get answers and I also do believe that

and need to help in some way or another to protect the intellectual property of those who work very hard to generate material and aren’t necessarily remunerated for their creativity and hard work.

If this has happened to you, I would love to hear your story and read what you have done about it.

Thanks very much.
