Yesterday in the United Kingdom, we had the hottest day on record ever.
Wild fires destroyed forty homes and fire fighters were dealing with war like conditions. Those who chose to disregard the public health warnings about yesterday’s sweltering temperatures paid dearly with their lives.
And what’s interesting here is that rainfall has been forecast today.
One extreme weather follows another.
But this isn’t at all unusual.
Exactly a year ago in London, we had a deluge of biblical proportion, so much so a number of train stations were flooded, preventing public use.
In another part of the world, record levels of rainfall is threatening to submerge an entire city; leaving millions of people at risk.
The amazon rain forest which is responsible for the sustenance of this planet has undergone a huge degree of deforestation in the last few years under Brazil’s right wing President — Jair Bolsonaro.
A number of journalists who were doing investigative work in the amazon were killed a few weeks ago.
