Vocal Media Is Dead.

I had my introduction to vocal on this platform. It came about when I read an article by a gentleman called Nikhil Vemu, whose well made arguments convinced me to take a punt on this new writing space, which was created to compete with Medium and Newsbreak.

In his write up, Mr. Vemu took the time to deconstruct the various publications on vocal, the costs involved in being on vocal and vocal +(there’s a distinction here). The various ways in which writers are recognized and remunerated. There are also payments which accompany milestones achieved and the minimum amount needed to hit, before being eligible for withdrawal of funds.

Back then in February, I was very happy to pay $9.99 to get on vocal plus to publish articles and compete in the writing challenges, completely deluded in the notion that I had as much a chance as everyone else in winning their eye watering prizes.

During my deluded phase, I took a number of posts that I had written on medium and had them transposed on to vocal and lo and behold, I was amply rewarded, as evinced…
