The news broke on Friday that the main opposition leader to the Russian leader — Alexei Navalny — had collapsed and died in prison.

And it didn’t take too long before Joe Biden, Olaf Scholz, Emmanuel Macron and Rishi Sunak began to fall over themselves to condemn Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin for his murder.

But the words of the political leaders of the west have rung quite hollow.

How did they come to that conclusion that quickly? What’s led them to believe that it was the Russian leader who killed Navalny? And why would Putin go out of his way to kill a man whom he has effectively neutered, at this particular moment in time?

Why have the Americans, Brits, French and Germans been so quick to make a martyr out of the late Russian politician?

And why are they acting as though Navalny never had any far right inclinations and ultimately might have been much worse than Putin, if he had become leader?

These questions are being posed because I strongly believe that Putin — as insanely megalomaniacal as he is — had no major incentive to put the knife or the lethal injection into Navalny, a few days ago.
