What Is The Point of The BBC?
Has the national broadcaster had its chips in the age of fascism?
There is no disputing the fact that Brexit has destroyed Britain beyond all recognition.
And there’s also no disputing that the ruling party has taken the country in a direction which can best be described as fascist.
It’s often said that an independent judiciary and a critical press are the hallmarks of a healthy democracy.
Our media, these days, reflect the extraordinary fascism of the British government; You have the print media by way of the Daily Mail, The Sun, The Telegraph spewing so much lies and falsehoods on a daily basis about Albanians, Black folks, and Russians and yet ignoring the damage wrought on the lives of millions by Brexit.
But it must be said that these guys pale in comparison to the BBC.
Once before the national broadcaster which could be relied upon in times past to hold the government of the day to account, has failed miserably to do its job in holding the government of the day to account.
I’m old enough to remember the late Sir Robin Day, who always gave Margaret Thatcher a torrid time in interviews, challenging false assertions and dared to ask the difficult questions.
