There are several thousands of us operating in this space.
And given the degree to which our fight to be seen, heard and validated by our peers can get quite fierce, we often neglect the friends that we make along the way.
I must point out that I am incredibly guilty here.
A huge part of the beauty of writing here lies in the connections that we forge with each other and the stories that we tell.

Our protagonist is a powerful testament to man’s greatest instincts — our will to survive and reproduce ourselves.
And he has done both exceptionally well.
Yesterday, while I was looking for writers whom I hadn’t read in a while, my mind went straight to him.
I checked his page and found old articles of his.
And I also did notice that he hadn’t published in a while.
Given the worrier that I am, a number of questions ran through my mind: Is he okay? Is he alive and thriving?
