2024 is fast proving to be an annus horriblis for the British royal family.
Not only is the head of the firm convalescing from his cancer surgery, other members are also grappling with major health issues.
Prince Andrew’s former wife is also dealing with her double cancer diagnosis and it also emerged that the spouse of a minor royal, took his life a few weeks ago.
But all this, it seems, pales into comparison with what’s happening to Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales.
We were told a few months ago, that she had undergone abdominal surgery and would need a bit of time to recover.
Folks didn’t have a problem with that.
The issue here is that she hasn’t been seen since Christmas day and her absence has fuelled quite a bit of speculation in the United Kingdom.
And it was in recognition of the intense speculation that the palace chose to release a photograph of the Princess of Wales with her babies, smiling.
But there was a problem.
The picture was doctored.
And the Associated Press made the all-important decision not to publish the image, given how obvious the manipulation was.
