Why are The Mainstream Media Pivoting on Gaza and What Does This Tell Us About ‘The Free Press’ and Manufactured Consent ?

That the mainstream press is as duplicitous as they come isn’t news to the smart folks in our midst.
People will remember in late 2002 and early 2003, there was unanimity on the subject of Saddam Hussein and the weapons of mass destruction and those who took a different view were made to look as though they were completely insane.
The term manufactured consent, which best describes this phenomenon was coined by Walter Lipmann, was subsequently popularized by Noam Chomsky to describe the means through which the public are engineered to support the atrocious actions of their government.
It suffices to say that manufactured consent is as insidious as it gets, given the degree to which it has poisoned our discourse.
And another interesting case in point is the current genocide in Gaza.
Hundreds of millions of people across the world have seen images of children and women slaughtered in Palestine and those who denounced what they saw were labelled anti-Semitic.
