Why Did The 100 Year Old Kissinger Travel To China, Last Week?
Is it a sign of how desperate things are getting for the world’s largest economy?
A week ago, the former secretary of state — Henry Kissinger —went out to China to see the top brass of the ruling party.
In images which have now gone viral around the world, we saw Henry Kissinger, the man who recognized China’s inordinate potential in 1973, being treated with the kind of deference and courtesy that no active American politician —Republican or Democrat —could expect to receive.
Certainly not the current secretary of state — Antony Blinken — nor his boss, President Joe Biden.
But why would the power brokers in America entrust the task of repairing relations with its biggest rivals and rescuing its economy to an extremely frail but incredibly sharp 100 year old?
Travelling is stressful for all, young or old, but the thought of a centenarian, risking his health and life in getting to the far east to try to save face for his paymasters by staving off imminent collapse was beyond extraordinary.
And we should all pay attention.
It is an open secret that the United States of America is unravelling faster than it ever has in its entire history.
