Some questions are worth asking…

Britain, these days, is basking in the glow of the platinum jubilee.

Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II is celebrating 70 years on the throne. To commemorate this special occasion, a number of people are being ‘recognized’ for their contribution to Britain in 2022.

As expected the birthday honours list has been printed with the names of those who have been given the following awards:

· Member of The British Empire (MBE)

· Order of The British Empire (OBE)

· Commander of The British Empire (CBE)

· Knight of The British Empire (KBE)

· Dame of The British Empire (DBE)

As a knight and dame of the realm, you get to have people address you as Sir and Dame, which in a class ridden and obsessed society such as ours counts for everything.

But one must ask why these awards exist in this day and age, given what we know about the British empire? And one should also ask for how long do we intend to carry on with 10th century absurdity known as the British royal family?
