It was the pictures in faraway Jamaica, this time, which got the right wing tabloids seriously wound up.

The sight of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with Prime Minister Andrew Holness at the Bob Marley biopic movie premiere, had the British press frothing like some over made cappuccino.

To them, it was unforgivable that the exiled royals would have their photographs taken with the Jamaican premier, with his well known anti-monarchist views.

Folks with long memories will remember that when Prince William and his missus — Catherine — went to Jamaica in 2022, they were confronted by a hostile Holness, who informed the heir to the throne that they were going to start the process of becoming a republic, emulating the very steps which were taken by Mia Mottley of Barbados in 2021.

And this wasn’t the only thing which worked against the Cambridges in Jamaica.

Nearly every photo-opportunity they undertook in what used to be a highly lucrative slave plantation for the mother country turned out very badly, with that infamous picture of the royals talking to children behind the wire, being the strongest case in point.
