Why Every Writer Should Dare To Dream of Great Success on Medium
No one has a monopoly of wisdom and brilliance.
I read an article written by a very dear friend and supporter on the need to have realistic expectations, while conducting the business of writing on this platform.
As much I appreciate the sterling advice being given to writers, both new and experienced, I strongly feel that having impossibly high goals and targets is all part of the great attraction of working in this space.
Why I hear you ask?
I don’t think that Randi Ragan, when she wrote her piece about her grandmother’s suicide, ever imagined that her post would resonate powerfully with the judges of the Medium Writing Competition to point of winning not just in one category but sweeping the main award itself and yet it did, quite powerfully.
I also don’t think that Julio Vincent Gambuto ever thought that his article on gaslighting would have a profound effect on millions around the globe. And yet it did, setting the tone for every other post that came from hundreds of writers currently working on this page.
