No one does performative allyship better than white liberals.

Malcolm X understood this better than most and this was precisely why the man was extremely vocal in calling out their hypocrisy and mendacity.

The former leader of the National of Islam saw that the northern states in the union weren’t any different from its southern neighbours, and the extreme poverty and deprivation of African-Americans served as the strongest empirical evidence that you could call upon.

Sixty years on since his assassination, it is no hyperbole to state that things are worse than ever, with America’s lurch to the extreme right.

And In the wake of Charlie Kirk’s execution, we have seen liberals and conservatives engage in sanitizing the man’s legacy in a way that is truly extraordinary.

We have seen this take place in the Halls of congress, churches and in the European Union parliament, of all places, too!

And it is against the backdrop of deliberate amnesia that the popular New York Times columnist, Ezra Klein, had Ta-Nehisi Coates on his podcast to discuss matters arising and what took place over the course of their debate was nothing short of unnerving.
