We have seen the state of Israel since the 7th of October act without regard for international law in slaughtering thousands of innocent women and children and it isn’t too much of stretch to suggest that Israel would have gone all the way in bombing its main regional rival, if it could.
You only have to survey the rest of the most unstable region in the world to fully appreciate how much of a threat an impenetrable and strong Iran is to the established order:
Egypt is an economic basket case with the very strong likelihood of defaulting on its debts next year.
Even with the renegade crown prince in charge, Saudi Arabia is to all intents and purposes an American colony; Lebanon is a failed state, which will be annexed by Israel in no time.
It is near impossible to envisage the likes of Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Libya getting back to what they were in the early noughties, when Saddam Hussein, Hafiz al-Assad…
