It’s 2024.

And yet it feels like the 1930s in Germany, but not in the way that you think.

What we have seen in the last six months, is the stifling of pro-Palestinian voices; at protests, lectures or everywhere else.

And in a strange sort of way, its actions are as fascist as it was when protestant farmers decided to vote for the leader of the National Socialist party in the 1932 elections.

The National Socialist party, which performed very badly in 1928, suddenly found itself at the center of German politics.

The sheer monstrosity of Hitler’s crimes has ensured that Germany and the German people will never shake off the memories of Fuhrer’s time in power.

And rightly so, in my view.

But what we have seen across the west and by that I mean the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and the United States of America, are the stifling of pro-Palestinian voices in its cities.

What we know as western liberal principles are currently being eviscerated, right before our very eyes and leading the charge are our elected governments.
