Is it true?

The title of this article is taken from the film titled finding forrester .

The film is about the unlikely friendship which was forged between an older White man, who had all but given up on life and become a recluse and a much younger Black man, who was coming to terms with life after his father’s disappearance and a scholarship to a prestigious school. It was a friendship which was underpinned by a love of reading, writing and above all else —life.

In this particular scene, the young protagonist played by Robert brown was having a go at Sean Connery’s character for reading the national enquirer, to which the older man said that the tabloid magazine was all but an appetizer for the main course.

As their conversation advances, and Forrester confides in Jamal Wallace saying that book readings were all about getting laid; to which the young protagonist expresses incredulity and the older man uttered the following immortal words:

Women will sleep with you if you write a bad book.

Why I have written this?

I am posting this from the most uninspiring book reading that I have ever been to in my entire life and yet the vast majority of the audience are women.
