It’s the reason why I do this.

There’s this song living in my head rent free.

It’s lived in my head rent free for the very longest time.

The title of the song is fame by Irene Cara. There aren’t too many songs that have been around for as long which sound just as good as the day it came out.

Baby you look at me
And tell me what you see
You ain’t seen the best of me yet
Give me time I’ll make you forget the rest

I got more then you
And you can set it free
I can catch the moon in my hand
Don’t you know who I am
Remember my name
(Fame)

I’m gonna live for ever
I’m gonna learn how to fly (high)
I feel it coming together
People will see me and cry (pray)
I’m gonna make it to heaven
Light up the sky like a flame (flame)
I’m gonna live forever
Baby remember my name

Remember, remember, remember
Remember, remember, remember
Remember, remember

Baby you hold me tight
’Cause you can make it right
You can shoot me straight to the top
Give me love and take all I got to you

Baby I’ll return
To much is not enough
I can ride your heart ’til it breaks
Oh, I got what it takes
(Fame)

I’m gonna live for ever
I’m gonna learn how to fly (high)
I feel it coming together
People…
